"Stick to your kind!!"

"Stick to your kind"

So this morning I did an IG live ( a few weeks ago really by the time you read this) entitled  "Stick to your kind". As I mentioned in the post, was the funny story of a Jamaican ex. After we finished dating I moved on to another Jamaican guy. LOL
I know, (judge your mother) LOL .When word got back to my ex he said to me in a scolding fashion "STICK TO YOUR KIND" that was the funniest yet most profound thing a person could say to me. Granted he was definitely speaking from a place of defat.
I think what triggered him was that his competition was within his own community.
I totally empathized and backed off.

I felt sorry for him. To test a man's manhood was never in my cards. Especially when he didn't deserve that.

So the point that I was making this morning was find your TRIBE!
Who are your people? Be HONEST with yourself. Don't pick people who
are not on your level. It is not to offend , but to avoid
inferiority and or superiority complexes. Trust me it's a thing.

I've tried to step out of my bounds a few times, in making and keeping friendships, attempted relationships, and even some family ties.

Its a thing.

We've been doing it since we were kids. That's typically where it starts right?
You know your tribe based on shared classes, interests etc.

The same applies for adult friendships, etc. While adulting and or learning the art of #adulting it is important to know your level. In doing so, no one takes advantage of each other because you're on the same level.

I've been burned plenty of times intermixing with folks above and or below my level. We are not all the same.

I think we all need to understand and respect the concepts of #individuality.  In my opinion that's when we make THEE best engagements..

To meet someone who has completed and or accomplished just as much as you?

Its like a brother or sister that you've just met. You compare notes, right?
Comparing notes is a phrase used to express the art of sharing your experiences in life; that could be work, personal &etc.

So remember if you are sharing your notes with someone who is NOT in your #CLASS aka "classmate" literally, figuratively or metaphorically, then what is  being exchanged? Judgement?..(I'll let you all use your senses to answer that question for yourself).

Find your groups and people of similar and common interests as yours. The common interest that are healthy and helpful for your life. You'll form lifelong bonds and or professional relationships that will feel like they .

So happy finding your purpose!

Enjoy the journey, the good and the bad!. Its all a part of your story.

WHERE'S MY TRIBE AT? ARE YOU A MADDHATTER?
